The Perfect Way to End the Day

Do you want the perfect way to end everyday? I guarantee that this will send you off into a blissful sleep filled with sweet dreams.

Just before you go to bed, get your living Word out (Bible) and open it up to Ephesians 1:17-23 or Ephesians 3:14-20. Both are New Covenant prayers by Paul. They are awesome! I read from either the Mirror or Passion translation.

When I started this routine, I began with the first prayer and sometimes, actually a lot of the time, couldn’t go past one verse. Let the Holy Spirit lead you. You will know when you should stop and let what you just read penetrate into your soul. Revelations will start to flow and you will go to bed feeling awesome.

When you feel like it’s time to move on, go to the prayer in chapter 3 and start. This routine does not have to take long. Sometimes just a minute or two. If you have more time, spend five minutes on a couple verses or the entire prayer. The Holy Spirit will lead you. You will know when to stop because you will get a revelation and have to read it again and meditate on it for a moment or two. It’s really great to feel the presence of the Lord like this before bed.

One last thing. When you actually lay down in bed, reflect on the day and start thanking the Lord for all the blessing that you are remembering. Big or small, thank Him. Thank him for the sun you felt on your face as you walked to the car. For the birds you heard out the window. For the lunch that you were craving and finally able to have and enjoy. For the friend you talked to. For your boyfriend or husband who listened to the story that you were excited to tell him. For the special time you enjoyed with him. For the revelations you got as you read The Living Word. For the song that you listened to and enjoyed praising with. Thank him for how he took the day and led you in all the right directions. You will know as you lay there reflecting. The Holy Spirit will show you all the blessings of the day. Before you know it, your asleep.

Sweet dreams,

Lori Rola
